Was Smerlas Smeared?

WEEI and TV sports yakker Fred Smerlas is contemplating a libel suit against the Boring Broadsheet because they referred to him as a “ticket scalper” in a recent Consumer Beat column.

Smerlas said he consulted with an attorney after the Globe did a story on his tailgate packages that began with the sentence:“Two ticket scalpers are going legit.”
