The lovely, lime-skinned ladies of the hit musical Wicked will be seeing lots of green as the production (in its many incarnations) once again brought in the most ticket sales for the week of February 18th through February 24th. There’s just something about the show that makes it so “Popular” with audiences. Also atop the charts this week was Billy Joel, who was responsible for the Top Concert Event, and who jumped from fourth place to second place on the Overall Events Chart this week. Only time will tell if this “Entertainer” will “Go to Extremes” to reach the Number One position for next week.

Other notables from the Top 10 Events Chart include Kenny Chesney, who appears to be “Living in Fast Forward” as he jumps from seventh place to third this week. The Police may have been “Walking on the Moon” last week, but as tickets for their final tour became available this past weekend, Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland have now found themselves in fourth place.

The Boston Red Sox once again find themselves on top of the Sports Chart this week, which should give Terry Francona something to smile about. The Red Sox announced yesterday that the manager’s contract with the team has been extended for at least three more years. The New York Yankees have edged their way into second place this week; can they steal first base – er, place – in the week ahead? Rounding out the top of the chart are the Chicago Cubs, who came out of left field to clinch the third place position.

As Wicked remains in first place on the top Theater and top Broadway lists, not much else has changed from last week. The Jersey Boys remain the “Big Men in Town” as they retain their second place positions on both charts. The Lion King can “Feel the Love Tonight” as Simba and his pride keep their third place position on the Theater Chart, and climb a place to achieve fourth on the Top 10 Broadway Events list. The Little Mermaid also remains part of “The World Above” as the musical stays in third place on the Broadway list, and climbs two positions into fourth place on the Top 10 Theater Events List List.

Coming in from Sin City this week are everyone’s favorite three performers at Caesar’s Palace. Bette Midler has certainly found “The Wind Beneath her Wings” as she claims first place on the Top 10 Las Vegas Events List. Pop icon Cher fell a position to second place this week, but you’d better “Believe” she’s “Strong Enough” to climb back to number one. Finishing out the Top Vegas Events are Elton John and his Red Piano, who won’t “Let the Sun Go Down” on his reign in third place.
