Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z, two titans of the music industry, are joining forces for a monumental 25-date North American co-headlining tour, which kicks off on March 22 in Miami, FL. Dubbed the “Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Heart of the City” tour, this event is particularly significant as it marks the first time in over 15 years that a tour of this caliber features an African American male and female act as co-headliners. The tour’s magnitude is highlighted by the involvement of major promoters such as Live Nation and Haymon Events.

Tickets go on sale for the first shows beginning Feb. 15 and are available through Live Nation’s website, and exclusively to Citi Cardmembers through Citi Card’s Private Pass Program two days before.

The collaboration between Blige and Jay-Z dates back to their first joint project in 1996 with the hit “Can’t Knock The Hustle.” Over the years, their careers have intertwined through various musical endeavors, cementing their positions as influential figures in the hip-hop and R&B genres. This tour not only celebrates their long-standing partnership but also showcases their individual growth as artists.

For Jay-Z, this tour is his return to the arena circuit since the Jay-Z and Friends Tour in 2004. It also serves as an opportunity for fans to experience live performances of tracks from his 2006 “Kingdom Come” album and the 2007 critically acclaimed “American Gangster” album. Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige, known for her soulful voice and emotional depth, brings her rich catalog of hits that have earned her multiple Grammy Awards and solidified her status as the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.”
