The Rowdy Frynds Tour featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr., the subject of a lawsuit filed by Ticketmaster against StubHub!, is planning to hit the road again this spring in 20 cities nationwide beginning April 4. Johnathan Rice will be joining the tour on this leg.
Last April, Ticketmaster sued its rival claiming that it had the exclusive ticket-selling rights to all but two of the 20 venues where the Rowdy Frynds tour was playing. StubHub! also claimed to be the tour’s “official Premium Ticket provider.”
Regarding the ticketing rights to the 2008 tour, StubHub! spokesperson Sean Pate told TicketNews, “We haven’t made any announcements about working with the Frynds tour again although it could certainly be possible based on our relationship. The suit with Ticketmaster is still in the litigation process.”
Only performing Friday and Saturday nights, this leg ends June 14. Ranked as one of the Top Ten Concerts of 2007 based on shows played, the Rowdy Friends tour played 20 dates nationwide and grossed more than $10.5 million, according to published reports.
“Our following of fans fit together perfectly,” Skynyrds’ Johnny Van Zant said in a statement. “We can’t wait to get back out there and have some fun!”
