Legendary singer/songwriter David Crosby will launch the third annual “Lyrically Speaking” songwriter series in Aspen next month. The pioneering concert-and-conversation program, presented by the Aspen Writer’s Foundation and Jetride, will feature Crosby in an interview and solo performance on April 8 at the Belly Up Aspen.

“As a singer-songwriting icon, social justice advocate and vocal master, David Crosby’s powerful lyrics have moved generations of music lovers,” said Lisa Consiglio, executive director of the Aspen Writers’ Foundation, in a statement. “Lyrically Speaking is about music with a message, and David embodies that spirit.”

A founding member of two seminal folk/rock bands, The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby is a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an artistic firebrand with multiple platinum and gold records to his name, a successful solo recording artist and a bestselling author of three memoirs that detail the roller coaster infamy of his rock star career.

Tickets are $50-$150, and are available at Belly Up Aspen. A portion of proceeds from this evening will benefit Doctors Without Borders, Crosby’s charity of choice.
