Gloria Estefan, the musical superstar from Miami, will be the inaugural act at the new MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT when the venue opens over Memorial Day weekend May 23-25.

The 4,000-capacity MGM Grand Theater will be Foxwoods’ main entertainment venue and will complement its 1,400-seat Fox Theater. Foxwoods expects to book as many as 120 acts a year into the MGM Grand, which can be reconfigured to a more intimate 2,200 capacity if needed.

Estefan, who was born in Havana, Cuba in 1957, has sold more than 90 million albums worldwide and has won multiple Grammy Awards. She moved to Miami with her family when she was very young, and has become one of the most beloved artists of the past 25 years.
