The North Fork Theatre at Westbury became the Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury, effective March 24. The name change was due to the acquisition of Westbury’s name and title sponsor, North Fork Bank, by Capital One Financial Corporation. The name-in-title agreement between and Capital One and Live Nation, the venue’s owner, continues through the end of 2009 for the Westbury, NY theater in the round.

The indoor, 2,800-seat theatre opened on June 18, 1956 as Westbury Music Fair and for the past 52 years has presented many of the biggest names in entertainment. The venue operated as a summer tent theatre from 1956-1966 presenting mostly Broadway shows and theatrical events. In the summer of 1966, the venue re-opened as a state-of-the art, fully enclosed air conditioned theatre. It has hosted a wide array of acts including The Doors, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, and introduced many of today’s hottest performers including Britney Spears and NSYNC.

The first act to perform at the newly named Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury will be Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, whose sold out run of four shows takes place March 27- 30.
