In anticipation of the July 1 release of “Hole in the Sun,” their first studio album in 10 years, rockers Night Ranger are mounting a world tour that hits the U.S. May 11 in Oklahoma City, OK. The album and tour also commemorate the band’s 25th anniversary.

“People will hear this record and recognize our dual blazing guitars and vocals, and big choruses and melodic verses, because that’s definitely how you can describe this album,” singer/bassist Jack Blades said in a statement. The self-produced album, the band’s eighth studio album, is its first for VH1 Classic Records. “It’s new Night Ranger, but in a lot of ways it’s classic Night Ranger.”

The band’s original members Blades, drummer/vocalist Kelly Keagy and guitarist Brad Gillis are joined by guitarist Joel Hoekstra and keyboardist Christian Cullen, and the group will be doing various shows with Styx and Boston, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Cinderella and Warrant.

Starting with their 1982 debut album, “Dawn Patrol” that sold more than 16 million copies worldwide, the band’s popularity has been fueled by a string of instantly recognizable hits, including “Sister Christian,” “(You Can Still) Rock In America,” “When You Close Your Eyes,” “Sentimental Street,” “Goodbye” and “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me.”
