Two blues greats are hitting the road together this summer. Blues rockers George Thorogood and the Destroyers and legendary blues and rock guitarist/singer Buddy Guy are teaming up for a month long tour.
The tour will begin July 23 in Silverton, OR, and finish up Aug. 24 in South Bend, IN, but before the two hook up, Thorogood will launch a 19-date Canadian tour, which already has sold out shows in Calgary and Edmonton, AB. The tour begins May 13 in Victoria, BC and wraps June 7 in Moncton, NB. In between the two tours, Thorogood is playing four isolated U.S. dates from June 9-July 12.
“You know you’re in the majors when you get to hit the road with someone like Buddy,” said Thorogood in statement. Guy, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, reportedly influenced Eric Claption, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among other greats. “Hands-down one of the best ever.”
Thorogood, who calls his group “the world’s greatest bar band,” started 2008 off with a month long tour that took the band though California and the South.
