Up and coming rock band OneRepublic has been forced to cancel nine shows, after lead singer Ryan Tedder suffered a serious tear to his Achilles tendon last week just before the band was to play Central Michigan University on their current college tour. The injury required immediate surgery.

Shows scheduled from April 25-May 8 have been canceled or postponed. Tedder is expected to rejoin the band in time for their May 12 show at Shepherds Bush in London.

“I want to apologize to all of our fans holding tickets to the cancelled shows,” said Tedder in a statement. “We hope to reschedule shows in these areas as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone for the get well soon messages too! I’m looking forward to being back on stage as soon as possible.”

OneRepublic was touring on the Crocs NextStep Campus Tour with Fabolous. The tour will continue with other national recording artists.
