Steel Train tour extends outing 

Indie folk/rock quartet Steel Train is getting a lot of roadwork off its sophomore album, “Trampoline.” The New Jersey natives, who just wrapped up the first leg of their North American tour with The Spill Canvas and Ludo, embark on a second leg with The Hush Sound, July 16 – August 24 that includes two dates with O.A.R. The leg also includes a stop at Lollapalooza in Chicago, August 2. Other music festivals already visited include Warped Tour, Wakarusa 2008 and three appearances at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Produced by Mark Trombino (Rilo Kiley, Jimmy Eat World), “Trampoline” was released on Drive-Thru Records, and delivers the sounds and spirit of some of the band’s favorite music styles, including British and American classic rock, folk-rock, psychedelia, pop and alternative.

According to the band, “I Feel Weird,” an energized pop number full of piano and xylophones, is the track which embodies the album. It has been recently added to the MTVu rotation and Steven’s Untitled Rock Show on Fuse, with spins at MTV2 Subterranean to follow.

The band has also shared the stage with Dashboard Confessional, Hellogoodbye, The Flaming Lips, The Violent Femmes, My Morning Jacket, Something Corporate, and Matisyahu, among many others.

“Trampoline” is Steel Train’s follow-up to 2005’s “Twilight Tales from the Prairies of the Sun.”
