TicketNews’s Top Weekly Events Rankings are in for the week ending January 11 and once again Britney Spears has the best-selling concert and ranks number five (power score 2.28) in the Top Combined Events Rankings. The musical Wicked kept its stranglehold on the top spot overall, but were followed closely by tickets to the NFC Championship Game which takes place next week in Arizona and tickets to the NFC Divisional Playoff Game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles which took place yesterday.

Concerts ranked highly overall, with the Eagles ranking closely behind Britney with a 2.25 power score, while AC/DC leaped to number eight and a 1.99 power score. Elton John & Billy Joel came in at number nine (1.72) and Nickelback at number ten, power score 1.62.

The Top Concert Events rankings show divas Céline Dion and Bette Midler are still popular with ticket buyers—they rank at numbers six and seven, respectively. Lil’ Wayne manages to edge ahead of Fleetwood Mac for the number eight spot (2.35). TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™, the world’s largest secondary market exchange. A Power Score illustrates a given event’s category-specific significance. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. As such, power scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category.
