Tickets to upcoming concerts from Taylor Swift as well as tickets for Jennifer Hudson and Robin Thicke’s upcoming concert tour are on sale throughout the week ending February 28 as compiled by Ticket News.
This week’s onsales begin Wednesday with tickets to catch hip hop artist Akon live in concert in Newark, NJ. Also on sale early this week are concerts from Jimmy Buffett in Wisconsin, Lil’ Wayne in Oklahoma and Memphis, and an additional show from Elton John and Billy Joel in Chicago.
Friday’s onsales start with a chance to catch country star Alan Jackson in concert in Kentucky. British rockers Keane have multiple shows on sale Friday, including concerts in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Washington, DC. Singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen also has several shows on sale Friday, with tickets available to stops in Phoenix and Maryland. Rockers All-American Rejects have a concert in Albuquerque on sale Friday, while TV on the Radio has a show in Boston in the Friday onsales.
Rising star Taylor Swift has additional stops on her national tour in Friday’s onsales, including stops in St. Louis, MO and Charleston, SC. Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is teaming up R&B star Robin Thicke for a national concert tour. The duo has concerts in Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York on sale Friday morning. Rounding out the week’s concerts is a concert from British rockers Coldplay. The award-winning band has a performance in California in Saturday’s onsales.
Finally, this week offers baseball fans a chance to get tickets to three teams’ 2009 home games. The Tampa Bay Rays, looking to continue their success from 2008 have single game tickets on sale this week. Also on sale are tickets for the Atlanta Braves 2009 home games and the Cleveland Indians home season.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
