Summer is just around the corner, and one of the first signs of the season has started to be unveiled. Perennial touring favorite Jimmy Buffett has started to announce dates for his Summerzcool 2009 tour.

More than 30 dates have been announced so far for Buffet and his backing group, The Coral Reefer Band. The summer-themed jaunt begins with a February 24 concert at Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului, HI, and followed closely by a second gig on the islands on February 28 at Waikiki Shell in Honolulu.

The remainder of the tour picks up with an April 16 gig at Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA, and continues through a November 24 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. Multiple-night engagements are booked for June 18 and 20 at the Susquehana Bank Center in Camden, NJ; June 25 and 27 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA; September 3 and 5 at the Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, VA; and October 17 and 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Buffett was last on the road for the 2008’s The Year of Still Here Tour, which kicked off in April and had steady dates booked through October.

Buffett has toured annually since his 1984 Feeding Frenzy Tour and built a large following off the seasonal treks. His recent outings have continued to rank highly in TicketNews’s exclusive weekly Events Rankings, in both the concert and combined events charts.
