Entertainment industry resource and news Web site CelebrityAccess has signed on to be an exhibitor at the fourth annual Ticket Summit Las Vegas, scheduled for July 15-17 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. The three-day event, which is hosted by TicketNews’s parent company TicketNetwork, is the leading trade show and conference dedicated to the secondary ticket industry.

CelebrityAccess is participating in its third Ticket Summit, and according to Senior Account Supervisor Shawn Garrity, the event has helped the company reach a new group of clients.

“It’s brought a market to our attention that we had not concentrated on in the past, namely ticket brokers,” Garrity said. “We really hadn’t delved into that, but Ticket Summit has been a big success for us in reaching that audience.”

CelebrityAccess bills itself as “the leading source of live entertainment industry news and information including tour dates, venue profiles, box office data, artist representation, and detailed profiles on over 35,000 celebrities.” The Connecticut-based company is also the exclusive provider of tour dates and other news and information to Billboard, MTV and VH1, among others. Its Web site is updated several times daily.

Membership costs $899 annually, which allows access to the site for three people at a company.

Garrity said that what makes CelebrityAccess unique is that it has more than 5,000 members worldwide who report industry information to them. “We have contacts that others don’t have, such as an up-to-date database of more than 10,000 venues with information on who books shows at each one, their general managers, box office and other personnel.”

It’s that information, especially as it relates to new tours, that brokers will find most useful.

“Timing is very important to brokers,” Garrity said. “The brokers who use our site find out touring information faster than others because they can see find it in seconds. There really is no quicker way than on our site.”
