PRESS RELEASE: EUSTA GUARANTEES RELIABLE SECONDARY TICKET MARKET
AMSTERDAM, NL (WorldTicketShop) SEPTEMBER 10, 2009: – Buying tickets for events through secondary ticket providers in Europe has now become even more transparent. That is according to the mission of the recently formed EUSTA (European Union Secondary Ticketing Association) on July 1, 2009. The first arm of the association, formed in The Netherlands has made it a point to provide clarity and certainty for consumers by providing an organization to group reliable partners for the secondary ticketing industry who will work with governmental and consumer authorities to ensure maximum dialogue and establish strong, working relationships.
Establishing a code of conduct is their first important step. The association will also push to eliminate the image of “Black Market,” “Touting” and “Scalping” to educate event organizers – that the secondary ticket industry is a legitimate market in the online realm. The association strives to be a respected partner of organizers, a market situation which has already existed for a number of years abroad (particularly in the USA and England).
This is the outcome of the first members’ meeting held recently.
The secondary ticket market in recent years has become a serious industry. The ticket providers offer a platform for buying and selling tickets for all events – even for sold out events. The industry now has a solid customer base, which is happy to buy tickets for events and are ready to pay a fee for this service. The typical customer of the secondary ticket industry is there for convenience, comfort and the assurance of excellent service. If one of the customers uses a EUSTA ticket-ordering service, they know that they are dealing with a serious business that has explicit guarantees.
President of the association Mr. Keje Molenaar (a lawyer at Korvinus Abeln at the Amsterdam Bar, specializing in labor, sports and entertainment law) comments,
