Started in 1996 as a local band booking call-in service, Sean Healy Presents has since grown into a talent buying company that currently books acts on a national scale. Healy recently took time out of his busy schedule to discuss Sean Healy Presents as well as what he hopes to achieve from his participation in Ticket Summit 2010.
Ticket News: What do you see as challenges to the future of ticketing industry? How is Sean Healy Presents planning on working toward combating those challenges?
Sean Healy: The challenges I foresee are that of the service charge. Most concert goers despise the service charge. Sean Healy Presents offers all of our shows on sale for face value. Customers can come into our office and purchase tickets without any fees. We advertise this on line as well. We are also very much a proponent of presale advance ticketing with local groups. The Locals can sell these tickets for below face value to their friends and we can give them extra tickets to make a profit on.
TN: Are there any specific individuals or companies that you would recognize as on the rise with the possibility to make a major impact in the future of the ticketing industry?
SH: I am hearing that there are companies that are offering their clients a chance to set a service charge that they will get or just keep it at face value.
TN: Have you participated in past summits, and if so, what have your experiences been?
SH: This is my first one and I am very excited!
TN: Can you give our readers some insight in what you are planning on discussing at Ticket Summit 2010?
SH: I am going to speak about the infrastructure of local groups participating in non sell out national shows and their ability to presale tickets.
TN: Finally, are there any particular people/companies you are looking forward to hearing from/talking to at the upcoming Ticket Summit?
