Primary ticketer ShowClix has signed a new partnership deal with online discounter Groupon that will allow ShowClix clients to integrate their Groupon offers into their ticketing platform.

Three-year-old ShowCliz delivers ticketing solutions to venues, organizers and promoters, providing clients with online and telephone sales support, box office management, promotion services and social media marketing tools. And, with this new deal, the rapidly growing ticketer adds the Groupon product to its bag of tricks.

With the new agreement, ShowClix clients will be able to apply for and manage their Groupon offers easily through their ticket seller management console. This arrangement also allows them to easily access and track reports on their Groupon offers.

Launched in 2008, Groupon offers a daily “group coupon” localized to a user’s geographic area. Deals are offered for restaurants, movie theaters, salons, and health and fitness locales, as well as for other local businesses. If a predetermined number of users accept the coupon, it will be available to all who apply that day. If not, no one gets the deal. This arrangement, in addition to no upfront advertising costs, results in minimal risk to the seller. With the new deal, the only one of its kind between a full-service ticketer and Groupon, ShowClix clients can now access all the benefits of this relationship with the group discounter.

As ShowClix CEO Joshua Dziabiak told TicketNews, “Groupon has grown leaps and bounds over the past year, and they have done a really great job in captivating large audiences in local markets across the nation. An integration with Groupon enables ShowClix clients to tap into a local audience relative to their event, and quickly move any unsold inventory.”

Dziabiak added, “Groupon will benefit with new offerings in ticket sales, which is one of their top selling types of deals. Each approved offer is integrated with the ShowClix platform, so it makes delivery and redemption of the discounted tickets quick and painless for consumers.”
