With this week seeing the start of preseason football, tickets for two more NFL teams, as well as tickets for some new and old rockers, are on sale throughout the weekend ending August 15 as compiled by TicketNews.
Starting off the week’s onsales are tickets for Wicked at the Peoria Civic Center – Theatre in Peoria, IL. The production is scheduled to run through the end of October.
Also on sale this weekend are tickets for alternative rockers the Foo Fighters. The popular band, formed in 1994 by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, has tickets for their New York and Washington, DC, dates on sale this weekend as part of their sweep through the U.S. and Canada this fall.
Preparing to kick off their own swing through the U.S. and Canada in September, 80’s supergroup Duran Duran has tickets on sale throughout the weekend for their Washington, DC, Anastasia Isle, FL, Valley Center, CA and Toronto, ON shows.
Other concert tickets on sale this weekend include Reba McEntire, with tickets for her Fort Wayne, IN, Huntington, WV, Omaha, NE and Bloomington, IL shows.
Vintage alternative rock is well represented in the weekend’s onsales, with tickets for Elvis Costello on sale for his Indianapolis show, the Psychedelic Furs on sale for their Lancaster, PA, show, and Rusted Root for an appearance in Jim Thorpe, PA.
In sports, 2011 home season tickets for the Carolina Panthers and the San Diego Chargers go on sale this weekend, joining a number of other NFL teams, such as the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns, who already put up tickets last weekend.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
