Fresh off an enormously successful sophomore album, Drake has tickets on sale throughout the weekend ending January 9, as compiled by TicketNews.
Drake, who has become one of music’s preeminent hip hop artists in the past three years, has tickets to two of his upcoming concerts among the weekend’s onsales. His first album debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 chart in 2010 and has since gone platinum, and his second album appears likely to duplicate his early success. Tickets for his upcoming concert in Florida are on sale today, while tickets to his Nashville concert go on sale Saturday.
Also among the weekend’s onsales are tickets to upcoming concerts from Lenny Kravitz. The singer-songwriter has enjoyed nearly 20 years of success in the music business, including winning multiple Grammy Awards and charting several singles at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. His concerts in Minneapolis, Mississippi and Chicago are on sale this weekend.
Continuing the concert onsales are tickets to multiple shows from the Allman Brothers Band. Mainstays of the blues/rock world for the past 30 years, the band has upcoming concerts in New York City among today’s onsales.
Also among today’s onsales are tickets for the New England Patriots 2012 playoff run. The Patriots captured the top seed in the AFC and received a bye in the opening round of the playoffs.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
