With just a week to go until the Super Bowl, fans have taken Lucas Oil Stadium to No. 1 in TicketNews’ exclusive venues rankings for the week ending Sunday, January 29.

On February 5, the Stadium will host the New England Patriots and New York Giants for Super Bowl XLVI, which took the top spot in TicketNews’ Top Sports Events.

With both NBA and NHL seasons in full swing, indoor sports arenas populated eight of the remaining ten slots in the week’s venues list. The highest ranking of these was Madison Square Garden (MSG) at No. 2, home to the New York Knicks and New York Rangers. Strong secondary sales led both teams to high rankings in this week’s Top Sports.

In April, MSG hosts Bruce Springsteen, the week’s leader in TicketNews’ Top Concert rankings.

Others to make the cut this week included, at No. 3, Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA, home to the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Atlantic Division-leading Philadelphia 76ers. The venue also hosts Springsteen in March and hot sellers the Red Hot Chili Peppers in May.

At No. 7, the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, is seeing strong sales for its Los Angeles Lakers and solid play, especially at home, from Pacific Division leaders the Los Angeles Clippers.

American Airlines Arena, in at No. 10, benefits from strong sales for home team the Miami Heat, who lead their Southeast Division. Heat star forward LeBron James was recently selected as a finalist for this year’s U.S. Olympic Basketball team.

At No. 5 was the only theater to make this week’s Top 10, the Eugene O’Neill. The O’Neill benefits from consistently strong sales for blockbuster hit “The Book of Mormon,” which once again took No. 1 in TicketNews’ Top Broadway rankings.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Event Power Scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category, and not across categories.
