To help count down the new year, Ozzy Osbourne will headline a special first-time Ozzfest on New Year’s Eve.
Sharon Osbourne said other artists set to perform at the one-night gig include “some of the greatest performers in this genre and our longtime friends” Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Body Count featuring Ice T, and Jonathon Davis of Korn. Another second outdoor stage will feature Zakk Sabbath, the Black Sabbath tribute band fronted by Osbourne’s guitarist Zakk Wylde. There will be two additional acts that have not been announced yet.
“My hat goes off to him, to be honest with you, since he’s playing outside that time of year,” Osbourne said of Zakk Sabbath.
Ozzfest will be Osbourne’s first appearance back to the stage after cancelling a string of shows last month. The Prince of Darkness had to postpone gigs in Nevada and California after recovering from hand surgery, but a staph infection and another emergency surgery caused him to reschedule the shows for next summer.
The concert precedes Osbourne’s European leg of ‘No More Tours 2,’ which kicks-off in January with Judas Priest. While Osbourne claimed this is his last tour, he is still expected to play select shows, including the recently-announced performance at Japan’s Download Festival.
Ozzfest will take place on December 31 at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.
