Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon is hitting the road this year for a brief U.S. tour following work with Big Red Machine, his recent project with The National’s Aaron Dessner.

Vernon already visited cities across the country this spring, including Philadelphia, Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Detroit, and this summer, he’s slated to perform at a handful of festivals overseas like Denmark’s NorthSide Festival, Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, NOS Alive in Portugal, and Melt! Festival in Germany. Then, he’ll make four stops in the U.S., starting on August 31 in Missoula, Montana. From there, he will visit the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail, Colorado, along with the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver. They’ll close out the run in Washington at the Gorge Amphitheatre.

Throughout the amphitheater shows, Vernon will be joined by indie-rock’s Sharon Van Etten and Indigo Girls.

Big Red Machine debuted their self-titled album last August. The music is Vernon’s first release since 2016’s 22, A Million, known for the single “33 ‘God,'” with Bon Iver. This year is also Bon Iver’s 10-year anniversary of the EP Blood Bank, which included the title-track, along with “Beach Baby,” “Babys,” and “Woods.” Vernon is best-known for the smash-hit single “Skinny Love” off Bon Iver’s debut.
