The legendary country star Dolly Parton has announced an open casting call for her new Broadway musical, which will accept applications from performers of all ages.

“Dolly: An Original Musical” is a brand-new show heading to Broadway in 2026. Parton shared the news on Instagram, noting that the production is searching for “performers of all ages to portray Dolly at different stages of her incredible life.”

“I’m announcing the search for Dolly,” Parton said. “Now, whether you’re chasing your dreams from a small town or you’ve spent years performing on stages across the country, I want to give you the chance to help me bring my story to Broadway and maybe even play me.

“This show is a celebration of my music, my life, and all the amazing people who’ve been with me along the way. Now we’re looking for talented performers who can capture the spirit of my journey.”

Those interested in the open casting call are urged to upload a one-minute video to social media featuring them singing their favorite Parton song with the hashtag #SearchForDolly to be considered for selection. The accepted social media platforms include Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or X.

Then, following the upload, applicants must fill out a “musical application form” here to complete their submission. Applicants under the age of 18-years-old are asked to submit their audition video on the website. All submissions must be received before midnight on January 13, 2025.

The few selected performers will audition for the show’s casting director.

“Dolly: An Original Musical” will be directed by Bartlett Sher, with music and lyrics written by Parton. No further details including venue and casting has been announced at this time.
