This Portland, Oregon folk rock band began in 2000, composed of the six members Eric Early, Erik Menteer, Brian Adrian Koch, Michael VanPelt, Drew Laughery, and Marty Marquis. “Wild Mountain Nation” was their first big album, receiving position number 98 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Songs of 2007. Their 2008 release, “Furr”, was also a success, taking Rolling Stone’s number 13 spot on their Best Albums of 2008 list and receiving a two-page spread in the Rolling Stone magazine.
Blitzen Trapper has in total released five albums since 2003, “Blitzen Trapper” (2003), “Field Rexx” (2004), “Wild Mountain Nation” (2007), “Furr” (2008), and “Black River Killer” (2009). They also received some airtime in late 2008 and early 2009 when they were featured on two episodes of the TV series, “Chuck”.
