“The jig is up, the news is out.”—Styx is back on the road. The classic rockers are back on tour to support a new album and DVD both titled, “One with Everything”. If you’ve seen the track list it looks like a greatest hits album with some new tunes. Not that there is anything wrong with hearing “Renegade” and “Blue Collar Man” again but this is not the case. Recently, Styx collaborated with the Cleveland Youth Orchestra to give some old classics a face lift. All members of the 115-piece orchestra and 56-member chorus are between the ages of 13-19. It’s not often when you see a band collaborate on a song with musicians weren’t alive when the song was first released. Nonetheless, the latest studio effort from Styx actually sounds really cool for lack of a better word. In addition to old favorites and new studio cuts, Styx and friends pull of a masterful cover of the Beatles classic, “I am the Walrus”. Beatles covers are usually sink or swim efforts and this one surprisingly stays afloat.

Styx, currently still features Tommy Shaw on guitars and vocals as well as James “J.Y” Young on synthesizers and vocals. The only notable absentee is former vocalist Denis DeYoung who left the band in 1999 to pursue solo efforts.
Styx opens up their latest tour in Las Vegas Dec. 2nd before heading westward. The band will be traveling via bus and plane despite pleas from fans to “Come Sail Away”. The currently announced stops are as follows:
