The Celtics stopped the youth movement Monday and sent the NBA a strong we-want-to-win-now message by acquiring perennial All-Star Kevin Garnett from Minnesota in a multiplayer deal, according to reports out of Boston and Minneapolis. . .
Though the teams weren’t commenting on the record, contract details reportedly are being worked out on both sides and there appears to be no major hang-up that would block the “Big Ticket” from becoming a cherished item in Beantown, not even getting an extension of his contract with a year and an option year still left.
Al Jefferson, Waterbury native Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair and Gerald Green – all with three years or less of pro experience – reportedly are going to Minnesota, along with Theo Ratliff and his big, expiring contract and one or two draft picks. (Full Story)
