Broadway Ticket Sales Report

There was a considerable drop in ticket sales on Broadway, from $20,428,069 the previous reporting period to $19,662,121 this past week. Overall, the season compares very favorably, $99,261,242 to date, with last season, $92,231,391. That’s a 7.6% difference.
No. 1 again was “Wicked” with $1,455,985 in ticket sales at 100% capacity followed by “The Lion King” with $1,271,337 also at 100% capacity, “Mary Poppins” with $1,205,797 at just under 100%, “Jersey Boys” with $1,179,974 at 100%, and trailed by “Beauty and the Beast” with $960,051 at 99% capacity.
The top three grossing plays of six currently on Broadway were “Frost/Nixon” with $505,947 at 86% capacity, followed by “Inherit the Wind” with $478,375 at over 96%, and “Radio Golf” with $255,162 at 69% capacity.
Falling behind all productions on Broadway was “Deuce” with just $233,648 in ticket sales at a little over 49% capacity. . .
Highest ticket price continues to be $351.50 for “Jersey Boys.”
“Old Acquaintance” opened at American Airlines Theatre on June 28.
“Xanadu,” in previews at the Helen Hayes Theatre, will open next Tuesday, July 10.
Closed this past week were “Radio Golf” and “Company.”
