“Jersey Boys”, a documentary-style musical that debuted on Broadway in 2005, is about the popular 1960’s rock ‘n roll group, the Four Seasons. The musical tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ rocky rise to fame, using many of the group’s hit songs throughout.
The musical opened at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway on November 6, 2005, directed by Des McAnuff. Since then, “Jersey Boys” has gone on a North American tour, and expanded it’s productions to cities in the West End, Melbourne, and other various U.S. cities. Its success was proven by winning four 2006 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Actor (John Lloyd Young), Best Featured Actor (Christian Hoff), and Best Lighting Design. Besides Broadway, the musical is also currently having an outstanding run in Las Vegas at the Venetian Palazzo Theatre, and has just signed an official sponsorship deal with StubHub. In TicketNews, “Jersey Boys” continuously comes in near the top of the exclusive event rankings just behind Wicked.
