Ozzfest King Ozzy Osbourne was treated and released from a Denver hospital for “a minor outpatient procedure” over the weekend before flying to the next stop on his latest tour.
His injury was not disclosed, but an NBC affiliate reported that Osbourne allegedly underwent minor surgery for a blood clot on Saturday night following a concert show. He had been complaining of leg pain for most of the day, the website said.
A spokesman for the 58 year old ‘Blizzard of Oz’ musician did not immediately reply to emails seeking additional information. A statement from Osbourne’s management team read: “Ozzy Osbourne had a minor outpatient procedure at Rose Medical Center late last night. He was released early this morning and is doing well.” Osbourne is currently in Kansas City, Missouri, where he is scheduled to perform on the Ozzfest tour. . .
The newest Ozzy album, titled Black Rain, was released on May 22, 2007. There are 10 all-new songs on the album, including “Countdown’s Begun”, “Not Going Away”, and “Lay Your World On Me”, about Sharon Osbourne’s recent cancer battles, and it is Osbourne’s first new studio album in almost six years. “I thought I’d never write again without any stimulation…But you know what? Instead of picking of the bottle I just got honest and said, ‘I don’t want life to go (to pieces)'”, Osbourne stated in a Billboard interview.
Ozzy performed one of the new songs which was called “I Don’t Wanna Stop” live on WWE Smackdown. This was also the WWE Judgement day theme song.
On May 24, 2007, Osbourne was honoured at the second annual VH1 Rock Honors, along with Genesis, Heart, and ZZ Top. It was announced on 18 May 2007 that Ozzy would be the first inductee into The Birmingham Walk Of Stars. In a ceremony conducted on 6 July 2007, a bronze star honouring Ozzy was placed on Broad Street in his home city of Birmingham in England, in his presence.
