Here we go again…
Just as the hand-wringing over ticket controversies at the Sprint Center was poised to subside, along comes Billy Joel. While Sprint Center officials came clean on how Hannah Montana tickets were sold, they have yet to clear the air on Elton John’s kickoff concert. Thousands of tickets were rumored to have been held back for Sprint Center associates, sponsors and VIPs.
Thus far, though, there has been no hard evidence that Sprint Center operator AEG held back large blocks of tickets.
Until now.
Some employees of the new downtown arena’s sponsor Sprint received e-mail invitations last week to buy tickets to a Dec. 6 Billy Joel concert before the show was announced and before tickets went on sale to the public. . .
