Mastodon frontman Brent Hinds, who ended up hospitalized with serious head injuries following his band’s appearance at the Sept. 9 MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas, was wounded after tangling with System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian and musician William Hudson, the Las Vegas Weekly reported. . .
The police report, based on firsthand accounts and corroborated by hotel-security footage, alleges that an inebriated Hinds was leaving the Mandalay Bay at around 3 a.m. when he ran into Odadjian and Hudson just outside the hotel, at which point Hinds took off his shirt and hit Odadfian with, then struck Hudson in the face and chest. Odadjian unsuccessfully advised Hinds “to relax” several times, at which point Odadjian and Hudson punched Hinds in the face, knocking him to the ground. . .
