Christmas comes early for Wynonna Judd fans this fall. The Academy of Country Music’s 1994 Top Female Vocalist, is taking her critically acclaimed holiday album, A Classic Christmas, on the road to 17 East Coast theaters. The tour officially kicks off Nov. 24 in Melbourne, Fla., after a Nov. 22 appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
Coupled with some of her biggest hits, Wynonna will deliver renditions of her favorite traditional holiday songs, such as “White Christmas” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and her version of “Ave-Maria.” . . .
“I have always loved the season of Christmas,” Wynonna says about her first-ever Christmas tour, “and am thrilled that this holiday season I get to share these wonderful songs with my fans. This music reminds me of everything that I loved as a kid and continue to love about the timeless, classic music of the most wonderful time of the year!”
Wynonna will also make a special appearance on ABC-TV’s “A Holiday Celebration at Ford’s Theater,” – air date TBD. In addition, she is to be honored by NBC/Disson Skating in this year’s “Tribute on Ice,” at the Sears Centre in Chicago, which is scheduled to air on NBC-TV Dec. 23 at 4pm (EST). The show features world-class skating champions skating to Wynonna’s many hits and will include a special appearance by Naomi Judd in a rare performance by The Judds.
