Just days after postponing the first dates of her “Backwoods Barbie” tour, Dolly Parton has been medically cleared to reschedule her tour. The initial rescheduled dates will begin April 22 in Pittsburgh, and all tickets for the postponed tour will be honored for the new dates.
Last week, Parton had been instructed by doctors to rest her back for six to eight weeks; she is now expected to fully recuperate in time for the April 22 kick-off. Her upcoming European tour, which kicks off June 13 in Sweden, was not affected.
“Hey, thanks for being patient,” said Parton in a statement. “I’m mending very nicely and will be fit as a fiddle soon. And I’ll not only have the fiddle, but the rest of the band as well. We can’t wait to hit the road for our ‘Backwoods Barbie’ tour. We’re anxious for you to see our new show and play you some of the new songs. Look forward to seeing you soon.”
