Everyone loves a good celebration, and Roget Lerner, CFO of The Music Building, New York’s largest, musicians-only practice and rehearsal facility in town, is staging the first “Rock the Building Event” on April 4.
The event, in part to celebrate Lerner’s birthday, is being staged at The Delancey, one of the top rock n’ roll venues on the Lower East Side. Four former and current Music Building bands — 5 High, Bodyface, Paperdoll and Brats — will perform live from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Cover charge for the 21 and over event is $8.
The 42,000-square-foot, 11-story Music Building has 70 rehearsal studios, most of which are about 350 square feet. Among the artists who have called The Music Building home at various times in their careers include Madonna, Interpol, the Strokes and the New York Dolls.
