In support of the fall release of his upcoming covers album, celebrated singer-songwriter James Taylor will embark on a major North American summer tour accompanied by his full big band. The tour starts May 22 in Virginia Beach, VA and winds down Aug.1 in Santa Barbara, CA. So far, 32 concerts are booked including nine in Canada, his first Canadian tour in five years.

The “James Taylor And His Band Of Legends” tour will feature music from the new album, a collection of cover songs inspired by Chuck Berry, Big Mama Thornton and Junior Walker, among others, with performances of Taylor’s greatest hits.

Prior to the North American tour, Taylor will continue the European leg of his world tour supporting the CD/DVD release “One Man Band.” That tour starts up again March 29 and concludes April 23. “One Man Band” is an intimate retrospective of 40 years worth of songs interspersed with Taylor’s insightful and humorous anecdotes about the people, places and events that inspired them. Recorded at the Colonial Theatre in the heart of the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts, the show, written by Taylor, features performances of such classic hits as “Carolina In My Mind,” “You’ve Got A Friend,” “Shower the People,” and “Fire and Rain” and will make its broadcast debut this spring on PBS’s “Great Performances.”
