Multi-platinum artists Counting Crows and Maroon 5 are teaming up for a co-headlining summer tour set to launch on July 25 at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, VA and wind down on Oct. 4 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL. Breakout artist Sara Bareilles will open through Aug. 26 while American rock band Augustana will support for the rest of the tour.

“Counting Crows and Maroon 5 on the same stage is an incredible double bill for music fans,” said Live Nation’s Senior Vice President of Arena and Amphitheater Programming Ryan McElrath in a statement. “Both bands have a huge body of hit songs that are sure to please fans from coast to coast.” The tour, which is expected to make more than 40 stops in all, is being produced by Live Nation and is a continuation of the long term touring deal it struck with Maroon 5 in 2007, which runs through this summer.

Counting Crows just released their new double album, “Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings,” produced by Gil Norton & Brian Deck. Maroon 5 is still supporting their smash hit album “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.”
