Colorado’s Aspen/Snowmass summer season kicks off June 6-8 with the 5th annual Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest featuring music by Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, Stephen Marley, Lyrics Born and Henry Butler, with more acts to be announced.

The Aspen/Snowmass area holds several festivals throughout the summer besides the chili pepper and microbrew event. Other festivals this season include a wellness festival; other music festivals; a July 4th holiday celebration; a hot air balloon festival paired with a wine and jazz festival; and several sports-related events.

In addition to weekend festivals, the weekdays in Snowmass are also filled with activities. The Snowmass Rodeo, the oldest, continuously running community rodeo in Colorado, opens June 18, with a new barbecue provided by Hickory House Ribs of Aspen.

Beginning June 26, music festivals are booked for each Thursday and select Saturdays with free outdoor concerts. Mavis Staples, The Freddy Jones Band and Robben Ford are some of the national artists set to perform against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains at sunset.
