Indie rock band Old 97’s is launching their first headlining tour in support of their seventh studio album, their first in four years, called “Blame It On Gravity.” The tour starts on May 30 in Houston, TX, and dates are currently booked through August 2 in Wellfleet, MA, with more shows to be announced.
“Blame It On Gravity,” released May 13 on New West Records, received a 3 1/2 star rating in Rolling Stone magazine. The album combines the various elements of rock, punk, classic country and pop the band has performed on previous releases.
Since the Old 97’s last studio album, 2004’s “Drag It Up,” the band has released a double live album, “Alive and Wired,” and a live DVD. The band also appeared prominently in the romantic comedy “The Breakup” after being written into the script by one of the film’s stars, and longtime Old 97’s fan, Vince Vaughn.
