This week, TicketNews examined some interesting differences in price for the upcoming baseball game between the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers at Yankee Stadium on July 1, 2008.

A web search conducted on Friday, June 20, found Field Championship tickets (boxes 1-52) available on Yankees.com via Ticketmaster priced at $325, plus convenience and shipping charges. Similar Yankees tickets (Field Box 41) on TicketLiquidator were priced lower, at $170, plus convenience and shipping charges. Face value for a full season ticket holder is $250, plus convenience and shipping charges for a similar ticket. The game day price is $400, plus convenience and shipping, according to Yankees.com. Another example of the price differences for Yankees tickets between Ticketmaster and TicketLiquidator is this: tickets to Box 79 Row K would cost a general consumer at least $240, not including convenience and shipping charges should they purchase them through the Yankees. TicketLiquidator offers similar tickets, for Box 72 Row J, at just $156.

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

A comparison of Main Championship Box tickets yielded the following results: tickets purchased through Yankees.com cost $180 and $280 for advanced tickets and game day tickets, respectively. Similar tickets at TicketLiquidator were priced at just $113 (Box 228). Yankees full season ticket holders are paying $120 for these tickets. There were no Main Championship tickets available for the Rangers game on Yankees.com.

Tier Box MVP tickets on TicketLiquidator were also a great deal; front row seats were going for $39, while similar tickets on Yankees.com were priced at $65, plus convenience and shipping charges. The game day price listed on Yankees.com is $70, not including convenience and shipping charges.
