While the R&B trio Labelle works on its reunion album due this fall and ensuing tour, Patti LaBelle will be touring solo beginning June 21 in Peekskill, NY with isolated dates set through December 13 in Garland, TX.
LaBelle’s last album, “Miss Patti’s Christmas,” was released last October, but she will most likely not be showcasing it on the upcoming concerts. Her preceding album, 2006’s “The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle,” reached the Top 20 on Billboard’s R&B/hip-hop albums chart. She donated all the proceeds from it to a variety of cancer organizations in honor of her longtime musical director, Budd Ellison, who passed away from prostate cancer before the album was completed.
