AOL Music has unveiled Tour Tracker, a free web service presented by American Express that lets music fans track their favorite artists and bands on tour. The site includes special incentives to buy tickets, including discounts for American Express card members.

The newly launched site, accessible from the AOL Music main page, provides fans with a single online site to stay updated on band or artist tours and to discuss everything from set lists to favorite show moments to places to meet afterwards. The site also provides music industry executives a useful window to monitor interest in a particular artist or tour beyond ticket sales.

“We’re always looking to find new and innovative ways to help music fans stay current on their favorite artists and bands,” said AOL Music Vice President Bill Crandall in a statement. “Tour Tracker provides music fans an ongoing outlet to follow and discuss an artist throughout a tour or simply find comprehensive listings for which artists – mainstream or indie – are playing in one’s hometown on any given night.”

Some of the features include a national search by artist, location and date where the fan can track an artist throughout the entirety of a tour and find an extensive catalog of show listings for any U.S. city on any specific date. There are artist/tour updates and news, including new concert dates.

It allows fans and music labels alike to track the hottest artists and tours. JamBase powered listings provide extensive concert listings – including indie bands and smaller venues and theaters. It also has MapQuest powered maps and directions to venue locations.
