The General Motors Centre in Oshawa, ONT is now being managed by Global Spectrum Facility Management. Global Spectrum will be responsible for the operations, management, programming, and maintenance and repair of the facility for and on behalf of the city of Oshawa.

Vince Vella has been appointed as the new general manager. He most recently served as director of operations at the John Labatt Centre in London, ONT, another Global Spectrum facility. In addition, Global Spectrum has named Cortney Ager marketing manager. Ager previously was a marketing specialist at the John Labatt Centre.

“Global Spectrum has a solid track record across North America in making venues of all sizes vibrant and exciting,” said Mayor John Gray in a statement. “We look forward to finally seeing the GMC operate at its full potential with Global Spectrum’s vast network in attracting an array of events that are sure to entertain all of the citizens of Oshawa.”

Global Spectrum currently manages more than 70 facilities throughout North America, including the new WFCU Centre in Windsor, ONT; the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA; and the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ, home of Super Bowl XLII.

General Motors Centre opened in November 2006.
