Guitarists/vocalists Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi tour apart and together. It is only natural since they are also married to each other. Trucks also tours when the Allman Brothers Band calls on him; his uncle Butch Trucks is a founding member.
Trucks and Tedeschi have tour dates through August 3 in Bridgeport, RI. Then the Derek Trucks Band goes out from August 17 in Burlington, VT through November 29 in Charlotte, NC, with dates being added all the time. Tedeschi has a few solo dates in September as well, which is when Trucks is usually not on the road. Both are performing on September 9 but separately: Trucks in Madison, Wi and Tedeschi in Telluride, CO. Trucks and Tedeschi will be playing on a blues cruise sailing from Port Lauderdale, FL from January 24-31, 2009.
Trucks and Tesdeschi were married in 2001 but just started touring together last year. When touring together, the billing is Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival, which features the entire Derek Trucks Band, members of Susan’s touring band and Derek’s little brother Duane Trucks on a second drum kit.
Trucks’ most recent solo album is “Songlines,” released in 2006; Tedeschi’s latest album is “Hope and Desire” from 2005.
