Alicia Keys is making a return visit to Australia and New Zealand this December, performing her biggest shows Down Under to date. Keys will also play a series of winery shows. Her last Australian and New Zealand tour in 2004 was a sellout.
Keys’ nine-city tour in support of “As I Am” begins on December 6 in Auckland, NZ, and wraps on December 20 with a winery show in Swan Valley, AUS. Special guests will be 2007 American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, who will perform her first live shows Down Under, and hip-hop funk group Lowrider (for the Australia dates only).
Lowrider drew major attention after opening Christina Aguilera’s 2007 Australian tour. The Aussie band combines a variety of genres and draw influence from performers such as Marvin Gaye, Erykah Badu, The Roots, and Mos Def.
Keys’ single “No One” received two Grammy Awards and peaked at No. 2 in both Australia and New Zealand.
