Cold War Kids tour back in the U.S. this fall
Indie rock outfit Cold War Kids are ready to launch their next jaunt across the U.S. after spending much of August touring Australia and Europe. Following an appearance at the Democratic National Convention on August 27 and a September 20 performance at the Street Scene festival in San Diego, CA, the band will officially begin its North American headlining tour.
The 20-date tour, which includes one Canadian date, begins September 27 in Portland, OR, and wraps with an October 26 performance at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans, LA. Concerts at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA, and the Williamsburg Music Hall in Brooklyn, NY, have already sold out.
Cold War Kids will continue their fall trek in the UK and Europe, with dates booked from November 3 in Birmingham, UK, through November 29 in Paris, France. The group is touring in support of their sophomore effort, “Loyalty to Loyalty,” which is due for a September 23 release in the U.S.
The California-based quartet debuted in 2006 with “Robbers & Cowards,” which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard‘s Top Heatseekers chart. In the past, they have toured in support of Meg White’s struggle with acute anxiety, according to a statement from the band.
