Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Dave Stewart & His 30-piece Rock Fabulous Orchestra are setting off on an 18-city tour beginning on August 28 at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, OH, and wrapping up on September 21 in Washington, DC, at the 9:30 Club. The tour supports the release of his new album and companion book “Songbook Volume 1.”

Concerts will include songs from Stewart’s vast catalog of classic hits performed in one-of-a-kind arrangements. In addition to smash-hits from Eurythmics (Stewart’s ’80s duo with Annie Lennox), the show will also include songs from his legendary “Songbook,” including those recorded by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mick Jagger, Bono, Celine Dion, Jon Bon Jovi, Sinead O’Connor, Bryan Ferry, and No Doubt.

“This isn’t so much a look back but a new beginning,” said Stewart in a statement. “When stuff has been put away for a while, and you dust it off, you often see something you’ve never seen before. And before you know it, you’re on the road with a 30-piece orchestra!”

“Songbook Volume 1” features new, fresh and rejuvenated versions of Stewart’s most celebrated material with the full orchestra. The album will be accompanied by a hard-cover, glossy book of the same title. It will include a chapter dedicated to each song with the story behind the music and photos of his collaborators during the recording sessions, most of which were taken by Stewart himself.
