Welsh songbird Duffy just released her debut in March 2008, but she already has an impressive tour itinerary lined up for fall. The singer/songwriter, whose full name is Aimee Anne Duffy, will kick off a string of North American tour dates with a performance at Fashion Rocks 2008 on September 5 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Duffy will follow up the Fashion Rocks gig by setting off on her North American tour on October 9 in San Diego, CA. The 16-date tour mixes solo shows with six opening sets for pop rock giants Coldplay, who are touring in support of their 2008 release “Viva La Vida.” The U.S. and Canadian dates wrap on November 1 with a Coldplay show in Philadelphia, PA. Duffy then takes her tour back to Europe and the UK for 13 more performances through November and December.

The 24-year-old Duffy released a three-song Welsh-language EP in 2004, which peaked at No. 1 on the Welsh charts. Currently, she is touring in support of her first full-length studio album “Rockferry.” In the U.S., the album the Gold-certified album sold 16,000 copies in its first day and reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 charts. In Europe and the UK, “Rockferry” has topped the charts and is certified multi-platinum.

Fashion Rocks celebrates the trendsetters in fashion and music while putting the proceeds towards a good cause: the charity Stand Up To Cancer. Besides a set from Duffy, the September 5 concert also includes performances by Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Rihanna. The concert will be recorded and broadcast on September 9 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
