Tropical storm Fay wreaked havoc with the Stone Temple Pilots’ (STP) scheduled Tampa, FL, concert at the Ford Amphitheatre on August 22, which was canceled just before the performance was to start.

“Due to inclement weather, the band has been delayed in Ft. Lauderdale and cannot get up here in time for the show tonight,” a post on the band’s Web site said. “We greatly apologize for the inconvenience; however this is completely out of our control at this time.”

STP’s show in Orlando, FL on August 19 was also canceled, but ticket holders were advised a day earlier. “Tomorrow’s show at the UCF Arena in Orlando, FL has been postponed due to the impending hurricane,” the band stated in the cancellation notice. “STP looks forward to returning to Orlando soon and hopes everyone stays safe during the storm.”

No concerts have been rescheduled yet. Ticket holders can get refunds at the point of purchase. The next scheduled show on STP’s summer tour is August 30 in Vancouver, BC.
