After closing this year’s Bonnaroo Festival and completing a 19-city summer tour, southern rockers Widespread Panic (WSP) will be flooding streets again for a fall tour. The 18-date, 11-city trek opens with October 10-11 concerts in Austin, TX, and wraps with a November 7-9 gig in Milwaukee, WI.

On tour, the Athens, GA-based rockers will visit mostly southern and midwestern states, including two mid-October gigs in their homestate. The highlight of the tour is a two-night Halloween performance in New Orleans, LA, at the Kiefer UNO Lakefront Arena. The October 31 and November 1 shows will be WSP’s first Halloween show in New Orleans in six years. Public on-sale for the Halloween shows begins September 12 at 10 a.m. (CST).

Before heading out on the road, WSP will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in a ceremony on September 20 in Atlanta, GA. Past inductees have included classic rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd and Gregg Allman, R&B artist Usher, and the iconic REM, who are also based out of Athens, GA.

“Sharing this honor… with so many of our greatest musical influences, is something I’m sure none of the band members imagined when we first started making music together,” vocalist and founding member John Bell said in a statement. “September 20th is going to be a truly special day for the entire Widespread Panic Family.”

WSPis touring in support of their tenth studio album, “Free Somehow,” released in February. The band debuted in 1988 with “Space Wrangler” and have gone on to become a widely successful touring group. At Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, CO, the band has sold out 32 performances over the years.

After wrapping the fall tour, WSP will return to Denver for two New Year’s Eve performances, though not at Red Rock. The December 30-31 shows will take place at the city’s Pepsi Center, with public on-sale beginning October 11 at 10 a.m. (MST).
